IMG_4314 I wanted to do a little gadget shopping today, so headed off to Fry’s Electronics in Renton, Washington.  The place is ENOURMOUS! They sell pretty much ANYTHING you can imagine which is powered by electricity.  It was a cross between PC World, Currys and Maplins x 10. 

With the current exchange rate (about 1.64 dollars to the British pound), I estimate that you will save between 15 and 30% on UK prices.  Hardware is closer to the15%, software has more savings.

If you want to shop for gadgets in the U.S., Fry’s is the place to do it.  To get an idea of how BIG the store is, just take a look at the 32 checkouts available!!…

Shanghai shopping in Yuyuan Market (Bazaar) August 17, 2009 1 Comment

During our tour of the city yesterday we visited the Yuyuan Bazaar in the old town.  The town is built in the style of traditional Chinese architecture, although feels a little Disney land like since it is so clean.   It is a great place to walk around, immerse yourself in the crowds and take in the variety of smells (not all good).  Here are a couple of photos of the busy market streets…

This is definitely the place to come for souvenir shopping.  There are all kinds of unique shops selling food, decorations, art and many more Chinese style gits/souvenirs.  Don’t forget to barter for a good price!
